De la Renta
Stanley Tucci in the role of Nigel in the
2006 film "The Devil Wears Prada", refers to Oscar de la Renta, as
one of the greatest artists of the century
Born July 22, 1932, in Dominican Republic,
the island that gave him the love for the exotic, so colorful and luminous.
At the age of 18, he went to Spain, where,
beside of another great artist, Cristobal Balenciaga, he discovered his passion
for fashion.
After the wife of the American ambassador
in Spain saw some of his designs, commissioned him to design a dress for her
daughter. The daughter and the dress appeared on the cover of Life magazine.
From Madrid to Paris and then to New York
The day after his arrival in the City of
Light, he was offered a job, at Lanvin, where he refined his style. Two years
later, he moved to New York - where he became a designer for Elizabeth Arden.
He made his name a brand branched out into
fragrance and then in a home line, then on the furniture, never put aside his
creations prêt-à-porter and Haute Couture, worn by both political
personalities, as well as Hollywood stars and even our first lady Angelica
Rivera

luz, dijo alguna vez al New
York Times.
revista Life.

Maison
Martin Margiela welcomes a new era, at least that reads your Twitter account.
(@Margiela)
British
designer John Galliano, the former Christian Dior artistic director who was
fired from that post in 2011 for making anti-Semitic remarks, who will follow
up the adventure that began Martin Margiela himself, of whom little is known.
(never shown an image of himself, has never come to thank his guests at the end
of his fashion shows and does not respond to interviews in a personal way, but
by fax or any other electronic device)
In a
statement of "urgent", Renzo Rosso, half businessman, half rockstar,
who is also the president of OTB (Only The Brave, which includes brands such as
Diesel, Viktor & Rolf, Marni and of course, Maison Martin Margiela) Said
that Juan Carlos Antonio Galliano Guillén, better known as John Galliano, will
be the one that will conceive all the collections of Haute Couture and
prêt-à-porter. His debut will be in the week of Haute Couture Paris in early
2015.

which is an enormous pressure” – John Galliano
